Seafood Chowder

Does anyone know of a place that serves up a great seafood chowder? I'm talking about the kind that you would find in a New England seafood shack made up of great seafood leftovers from the restaurant -- using quality ingredients (cream, etc.).

Best case, this would be in the Main Line area and not cost a fortune! (One can dream.......)

Ippolito's in South Philly has a different soup on their menu and most days it is some version of a NE style chowder. The Chowspouse swears by their NE Clam Chowder (Ippolito's is a seafood store with prepared foods but only 4 stools to "eat in")

Thanks! Sounds great. I don't get into Philly that often, but that will have to be a destination soon.

We used to live in the Boston area, and there was a fantastic seafood store/restaurant in Maynard called The Quarterdeck (don't even know if it's still there). It had the best seafood chowder on the planet.

Mmmmm... stirs up fond memories of the seafood chowder at the Satuit in Scituate MA.
