Seoul, Korea - Authentic Pinoy Food

Not too sure where I should post about dining out in Seoul - Korea isn't exactly in South-east Asia, and there's no North-east Asia board. International board sounds so "out there", as Japan even has one board all to itself.

Anyways, I just had an interesting brunch today - Filipino food! 100% authentic. Not surprising really, since KC Philippines Restaurant (and Filipino goods grocery store) on Itaewon 2(i)-dong, Yongsan-gu - almost next door to the Philippines Embassy to South Korea.

What I had:
- Pork adobo - delicious, perfect balance between the soysauce and vinegar. Subtle hints of bay-leaf amidst the strong garlicky flavors;
- Pinakbet, a tasty combination of pumpkin, long beans (sitaw) and baby okra;
- Mongo soup, I'd not had thisfora long time - mung beans soup/stew with bittergourd, ginger, pork and shrimps. Divine!

Prices were not cheap - roughly US$5 for each of the dish, though each was enoughto serve 2-3 persons.

Only you will eat Filipino in Seoul! Just as you did Thai in Bangalore recently!

Good food knows no boundaries, M_Gomez, and I'm also assured by the presence of a large Filipino crowd, plus the fact that the restaurant/grocery store was situated almost next door to the Philippines Embassy to South Korea.

Still, I thought you'd have gone for bulgogi or samgyetang :)
