Blackfish Tuesdays, and a BYO question in general.
Has anyone gone to Blackfish for the Tuesday tasting? Is it the only offering on the menu those nights, or is ALC ordering also available?
Secondly, regarding local BYO rules, as there is no way I can drink a full bottle is it allowable to take the 'leftovers' back to my hotel and then take the rest to a different BYO on a different night?

I wince at the thought the moderator will think I am Chip Roman's brother, which I am not, but here goes anyway. I used to go to Blackfish Tuesday tastings all the time and they were just an incredible bargain for such superb food. Try one and report back.
As for wine, you can take yours home with you in the trunk and selaed to keep it legal. As for taking the leftovers to another BYO, wine is lucky to get through 24 hours without much deterioartion, even if sealed and kept in the fridge, so my advice is to finish it at home and bring a new bottle when you dine out.›1 Reply-

Regarding the menu on Tuesdays at Blackfish, the whole menu is available in addition to the tasting menu. I have even had a friend sub a dish off the tasting menu, though that may be more the exception than a rule. Addition would be no problem. Also the tasting is only available at dinner, not lunch... unfortunately.

I would add that if you are driving yourself, put the wine in the trunk to avoid any potential open container issues.
As for bringing the leftovers to the another restaurant, IMO that is a violation of etiquette though not of law IFAIK... the hostess/server might turn their nose up a bit but if you can handle that, there is nothing inherently wrong with it.

I can't tell you about Blackfish but I routinely bring a bottle of wine to a restaurant, drink half and bring the rest back home. My husband doesn't drink. The only time I had a problem was when I bought a bottle at a restaurant and they wouldn't let me take the rest home. So my husband broke his self-imposed rules and helped me finish it! But I've never had a problem at a BYOB. Just be sure to ask them to give you the cork!
