Any opinions?? I ate there after reading L.A.Times glowing review and LOVED it. Menu on website makes my mouth water. Have yet to see any refs on this board. I t is kind of a weird location, but I'm looking forward to another visit after the race track opens.

A 'FARM FRESH' gourmet restaurant with some fine organic touches to the dishes made to order. A joy to visit in this fastfood military influenced wasteland of dining. Probably one of the best in the San Diego area.
Waiting for the Freeway from I-15 to be completed for more frequent visits.
Pricey. Only place to eat in the new Marriott. Strange pay parking in the burbs with little around, but housing developements in the process.

The third time was not a charm !

The limited menu has only a few items for entres. Had the Mero fish dish twice. Second time was a little too spicey. Other choices were duck instead of any chicken on the menu, veal cheeks (that's a first in my lifetime).
So, I went for the scallops after a baby greens salad(&8.95). The scallops were served on a white articoke creamy sauce and a lot of finely chopped confecti like herbs. The size of the THREE scallops would rate toward medium from small without any side dish! At $26.75, that works out to $9.00+tax & tip each. Now I know, that scallop are not that expensive, since another restaurant served FIVE Jumbo Fresh scallops in a special custom sauce made to order for $20.95 and included pasta or vegetables, and a LARGE baby greens salad!

It leaves you hungry with room for more, like some dessert, which I passed on.
I realize that the Public Relations firm, that got all those glowing articles placed in several magazines and newspapers, costs money, but don't cut back on the food portions to stay in business or make an extra dollar.

Special wine night three course dinners priced at $95.00 per person.

I have eaten there several times, and would put Arterra at the same level as Pamplemousse Grille or the restaurant at the Lodge at Torrey Pines. Not at the same level as El Bizcocho, Tapenade or Mille Fluer.

Arterra has to function as a three meal restaurant, so the room is cavernous. Bradley Ogden is affiliated with the restaurant. I think his people probably looked at the demographics of the area and figured that the location was great. Arterra is in a hideous Marriot hotel, and I am guessing the restaurant is not getting a great deal of local support.

I do highly reccomend going to Arterra for breakfast. The restaurant has a number of items from Ogden's Lark Creek Inn, and the food is fantastic.
