Thai in CT?

Fairfield County resident wants the real thing, not fusion.

  1. Doesn't exist in Lower FFC

    1. King & I in Bridgeport and Fairfield aren't bad, but I generally prefer Taste of Thai in Milford

      1. I disagree that it doesn't exist in Lower FFC. YMMV re. quality, but many people really enjoy Kit's Thai Kitchen in Stamford and Little Thai Kitchen in Darien (my favorites), which are straight-ahead Thai. They aren't fusion places.

You're right, I completely forgot about the Little Thai Kitchens in Darien and Greenwich. They are indeed straight ahead Thai, and dishes are well-prepared, though they ease off the spice level compared to more authentic restaurants in NYC and elsewhere.

I am not at all a fan of Kit's, which differs from many of my friends. They cater to the local palette, which is a prudent business decision, but there is too little spice and too much sugar for my taste.

        2. If you are willing to travel Typhoon in Middletown or Som Siam in Old Sayrbook.

Som Siam in Guilford is closer and just as good (despite some mixed reviews on yelp). And New Haven has lts of Thai places, some f which are quite good (and authentic). Search this board for old threads on Thai New Haven - the turnover is not huge.
