Restaurant for rehearsal dinner

My daughter is getting married in Atlanta and I need to find a restaurant for the rehearsal dinner preferably with a private room seating for a large group. We have a lot of out-of-town guests so it needs to be near Peachtree and 17th St to be convenient to the hotel. We're looking for a nice place, good food, but not a stiff atmosphere. We're open to typical restaurant but also it could be something a little different, even a brewery, as long as it has nice decor and ambience. Any recommendations would be really helpful. I'm visiting this weekend and could take a look if anyone has a suggestion. There's no better group to ask than chwhounds :) i'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

  1. These are all relatively close to Peachtree and 17th:

Table 1280 is at the High Museum
    Cucina Asellina (new place)
    Empire State South
    Tap (beer, nicer bar atmosphere)
    La Pietra Cucina
    Veni Vidi Vici
    Sufi's (Persian)
STK (new hip steak joint---depends on your crowd--young guests will love it)

Check out Crescent Ave. (a few places to choose from)

    1. ive been to a rehearsal dinner at the Georgia Aquarium the food was great and what was really neat is theere were windows opening to 3 different fish tanks no idea what it costs but it was memorable for sure--they are in private rooms that are behind the big fish tank
I too like Veni--i ve been to 1280 andt to me it was a little stuffy,
