Maybe for a vegetarian this might be a good option, but to many the salad bar is an after thought to the main attraction; "our gaucho chefs still expertly grill each of our 15 cuts of meat and offer you continuous tableside service."

If you judge them on their own merits, the meat selections are okay; the salad bar is stellar.

I have eaten there several times over the years, I found the meats to be very salty and they had no distinct flavors. The salad buffet bar has good selections.

I work with a bunch of guys, and they call it 'The Meat Palace', and we probably eat there together a couple of times a year. I think the food is pretty good, and I enjoy the salad bar, too. Is it worth $50 for me? Probably not, but man, those guys can pack away some meat. There are, indeed, worse places to be forced to eat!

I only go for lunch--about $30, if I'm paying. Same, fine food--go late when you're really hungry

Not the same food at lunch - substantially wider selection of meats and salad bar at dinner.

mrsphud - FdC is similar in quality to the old Green Field in Rockville at it's prime, though the selection of some of the more interesting cuts and side dishes is not there.

I wouldn't normally say it's worth $50, but if your husband is paid for, think of it as two for $50, and all you do is have to sit through the speeches. Bring your Kindle. :-)

I went on my birthday a few years back and had a blast the food was great and the salad bar was well stocked

I had to laugh at that. As I child, I well remember going to all-you-can-eat restaurants with my mother, who would stuff her pocketbook with whatever she could grab. Graffiti in Rockvile was a fave.

On topic, I went to this place just once (business dinner), and quite enjoyed it. Once I figured out I needed to be more selective on the meats (and to ask the staff questions about it), I got into a gluttonous rhythm. Also, the salad bar was very good.

I was taken there once by Brazilian friends. They recommended the best cuts of meat to get, which was very helpful. I try to avoid any type of "all you can eat" place as I can't stop myself in time. I was ill for hours after leaving there. It was good, but I have no desire to return and would never spend my own money there.

You're emphasizing why you wouldn't go personally as opposed to whether someone else should or should not go. Your only comment on the restaurant itself is "it was good." I would prefer to know what your Friends recommended.

I go a lot for work dinners and my company pays for it, so I don't feel bad about not eating $50 worth of food.

It's good food, I think the salad bar is nice but I just can't eat enough to justify it if I were going there and paying for it myself.

Not unless you like to eat obscene quantities of food. But if your husband has to go for business, that doesn't really matter.
