breakfast near Sofitel St James? [London]
we will be coming to London in June, staying at the Sofitel. i am not a big fan of hotel breakfasts so i am looking for something nearby where we can get a light breakfast, and more importantly, good coffee!
also, assuming extreme jet lag the first night, looking for nice dinner within walking distance that won't be too loud or scene-y (this will be a Saturday night). thanks!

What kind of food you want on the first night? Are you from a metropolitan city or a bumpkin town?
The answers you get on here depend on the questions you ask.
if you want amazing Chinese beef brisket curry hit Cafe TPT on Wardour for your first night -- i've been recommending this place for years and it rules. It's a shitty restaurant, but some of the dishes are world class.

Here's a place with good coffee... very popular with Londoners. It's not much of a walk from your hotel.
You'll be near a lot of good spots for dinner in Soho. I can't vouch for the loudness or scene-y requirement but I'm sure others here will comment. There's Quo Vadis with modern British.. and also Dean St. Townhouse. I'd book now for almost anywhere in the area near your hotel.
