How are you "suping-up" equipment; question about hand crank

I bought a cavatelli maker. Saw this video and read the comments:

Anyone tried doing this with this or other "hand' motored machines in the kitchen.
How hard would this be to do with a drill? My handle doesn't come off. How did they attach it to the KA?
