Fun New Orleans Style Creole Place Good For Groups

hi everyone! I'm looking for a fun new Orleans style place with good food and good drinks for my birthday prior to going out with friends. Do those exist in Manhattan!? Let me know... Thank you!

I've been to a couple work events/happy hours at Bourbon Street in Midtown and the food was pretty decent. I've never had food at Ninth Ward but it's smack in the middle of the EV and a good jumping off point for going out. Bourbon Street is big, has a bunch of TV screens with sports on and is New Orleansy looking while Ninth Ward is smaller, cozier but also has a back patio. I think the neighborhood around Ninth Ward is more conducive to a bunch of 20-somethings going out but 9th ave in Hell's Kitchen also has a bunch of bars. Really depends on what neighborhood you want to hang out in.

Creole, on the east side around 118th St., is really fun. Good food, bar scene, live music in the evenings. Went there recently for lunch on a Scoutmob and would like to go back.

169 Bar, with the (strong) caveat that it is a scruffy bar with food and thus may not be what you're looking for at all. It's New Orleans style, though, and good for groups. And fun, it is also fun.

If you specifically want Creole (not Cajun), you'll have a tough time finding it here.

For instance when I initially searched I found delta grill and bourbon street grill... Are any of these decent and which is better for a group and more fun? Also are there any better options?

Ninth Ward has good drinks and a decent, albeit limited, but in truth I have yet to find a good Louisiana restaurant in Manhattan. Delta Grill is not good and Bourbon Street is more collegiate than Cajun.

Collegiate is not the worst thing for me... We are all only 23 years old so I don't necessarily need a quiet atmosphere. More concerned about the food at Bourbon. Is it decent?

I went to the Bourbon Street on the UWS for a birthday, but it looks like they're not affiliated with the restaurant in Midtown, so I'm going to have to retract my comments. The tented backyard at Ninth Ward, however, might still be a good place for you to start out your night.
