There is a tiny Korean place underneath 121 King St. West - very simple and yummy (and cheap).

I wouldn't rule out the 121 King/Standard Life hole in the wall - I prefer it to Acko and Bob's. It's an older Korean couple and they do all the cooking and serving. I was addicted to their noodle soup for awhile....

I'll be looking for it then. So 121 King and Standard Life are one in the same? If I enter the building from the street will I find this place easily, is it obviously Korean or more of a deli?

Yes they are the same - just go down the escalator. I believe it's right near the Subway sandwich shop. It was obviously Korean to me - it's fast food -- there are a few seats although they are always packed up at lunch. Let me know how you like it.

Its the one near the Aroma coffee place. Food is not good at all. Take a short walk (10 minutes) to front street, Swish by Han for good korean food.

Hmmm.. Tovah, I don't recall an Aroma. That being said I have not been to this place in a year or more - maybe the food has gone downhill... I recall that it used to be tasty and quite packed at lunch.

I tried the Standard Life Korean deli place yesterday and while the bibimbap was indeed not great, something remarkable happened - when I got to the front of the cafeteria style line, I realized that they only take cash, which I didn't have. I told the nice man at the cash that I would run out and grab cash and he insisted that I take my food and eat it and return at a later time to pay him or else the food would get cold. When I insisted that I would go get money, he adamantly forced the food into my hands and told me to return later.

Not the most delicious food I've ever had, but after that experience, I'll probably be back.

I'm glad you tried it but sorry it wasn't great. It used to be better. But I am glad they were friendly to you - they are a nice couple. I used to enjoy the noodle soup - it came with a tempura slice on top which was tasty.

I always wonder about this place, not sure why I have never tried it. Food any good?

I don't normally do sit-down lunches in the PATH, so I've only tried it once (bibimbap with meat balls), but I enjoyed it. For what it's worth, I tried it out on the recommendation of a Korean friend of mine as the best option for Korean in the area.

Acko used to be called Ho Shim and in fact still shares the same kitchen as the Ho shim takeout counter up front. You can get the mix veg with meat on rice to go there.
This is I think the only completely Korean fast-food along the path. The one at 121 King serves a mix of Korean, Japanese and Chinese items.

Not on the PATH but close is Bob's Bulgogi on Richmond near Church. CHers seem to like the place, I find the bibimbap decent but not craveable.

There is, but it's not particularly good.
You know the Standard Life center? It's in there if you keep walking past the Subway. There's a Asian deli kind of place.
