Rome-- lunch near termini and final dinner
I am looking for a restaurant for lunch near Termini on a Thursday (maybe with Gnocchi since it's Thurs?) because we arrive at Fiumicino around 11AM and leave from Ciampino at 5pm. We plan to come into Rome and leave our luggage at Termini and have lunch. We will be hungry and tired, so I'm looking for somewhere that won't be long to get to. The closest places I've found that sound interesting are in Monti, is there a better option?
We return to Rome for our final day and I think we will have pizza for lunch and maybe another stop. Are wine bars like Cul de Sac and Enoteca Provincia Romana open for lunch?
For our last dinner (Tuesday) I am looking at Ristorante Il Sanpietrino (because Mario Batali recommends it) and some favorites I've seen listed on Chow-- La Campana, Roma Sparita, Matricianella, or Trattoria Da Oio. Any suggestions for somewhere with some ambiance but won't be more than 75 euro per person including wine? On our last trip we loved Al Bric and thought Grappolo d'Oro Zampano was good but not memorable. We are staying in Campo de Fiori and walking distance is a plus but not a deal-breaker.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will look into L'Asino D"oro and Palatium for lunch. Surpised to hear that Il Sanpietrino is closed since their website still takes reservations! I might focus on La Campana then, although I'm not sure about the atmosphere...will it seem special enough? Al Bric was lovely and felt like a wonderful end to our last trip.

I have been thinking about this and would actually suggest you get right on a Metro A to Piazza di Spagna and not start wandering around the Termini neighborhood. You might not want the stress of a reservation, in case your plane is late. Palatium doesnt take reservations for lunch, but you should get in if you arrive just before 1. There are lots of places to eat if you want to just wander, and it's a much more attractive area than Termini. When you're ready to go back, take the same Metro back to Termini.
Il Sanpietrino unfortunately doesnt exist any more but the premises are occupied by a nice wine bar, Da Gino e Antonio.

re: CJT
Piazza San Silvestro is no longer the bus terminus it once was, so it's not that simple -- one reason I suggested the Metropolitana. There's no getting lost, and you don't have to negotiate the sea of buses in Piazza dei 500 outside the station, where it can be very difficult to find the one you want, even if you know which one you want. You get on the subway train inside the station. Otherwise I'd certainly prefer the bus.
