For Saturday, you're looking for a high end upscale restaurant that still has availability 6 days out? Like EMP, JG, Daniel, Del Posto...? Maybe one notch down from there?
On OpenTable, I see availability at The Modern Dining Room (5pm or 10pm), would that work?
Jung Sik also has availability at 6pm and 9pm.
Many of the new and excellent restaurants are not in that same tier of formality, would you be open to that? Something like Acme, Empellon Cocina, etc:
Best Sunday brunch:
As for self-guided noshing tours, Manhattan is a great place for those:
Try also RGR's famous self-guided eating tour of the LES.
Note two changes: Guss's Pickles has closed, so substitute The Pickle Guys, on Essex off Grand. And the correct address for Economy Candy is 108, not 145.
You might also like Hester St Fair and the New Amsterdam Market, as well as Smorgasburg in Brooklyn.
I also like doing a Bleecker St / West Village crawl:
Murray's Cheese for cheese, cured meats, antipasti (love their white bean salad), they also have a grilled cheese bar, soups, and I really like their prepackaged upscale versions of Ho-Hos, etc.
Amy's Bread - bread, cupcakes, cake, sticky buns
Faicco's - Italian sandwiches
Payard - French patisserie
Bosie Tea Parlor - French patisserie, scones, cookies, macarons
Mille-Feuille - croissants, brioche, cookies, macarons
Joe the Art of Coffee -- Ceci Cela croissants and/or Doughnut Plant donuts
Grom - gelato Note: the price is actually reasonable if you get a to go container to share instead of their tiny 3.8 fl oz sized small
Best mixology / bespoke cocktails:
As for cocktail bars, much will depend upon what day of the week you try to go and what time you try to go. Off days and off times are usually better for places that are very small, like PDT, Death & Co, Raines Law Room, etc. Pegu Club, Flatiron Lounge, and Lani Kai are usually much easier to get into since they are larger.
