Looking for places that serve oysters baked, broiled or charbroiled. Any new combos on the Philly food scene?

Not sure what you mean by combos or if it's new enough but the Oyster House serves a few varieties of roasted oysters.

I was recently at the Oyster House and only saw raw and fried oysters on their menu. I just returned from New Orleans and fell in love with charbroiled oysters. Looks like Catahoula might have what I'm looking for. I haven't seen many reviews on this restaurant..might be worth a try!

Catahoula was fantastic, they lost their chef some time ago and it is still good, but not as good as it was. If you like cajun food it's worth a visit for the remoulade alone.

SSOH lobster roll is one of the best things I have eaten...ever (and I am a picky bitch when it comes to food).

SSOH does not exist and has not for several years. Are you referring to the current Oyster House or what was done at the old establishment?

The current Oyster House does use a traditional new england style hot dog roll for the lobster roll and does not embellish the lobster too much (bit of celery and touch of mayo... ). I think it is good.. a bit understated. Certainly not quite the same as eating at a lobster shack in Maine.. but it is hard to recreate that.

I just had the mini lobster rolls last week and they were served on buttered toasted slices. It's not the same as Maine, but still good!

So you're talking about the Oyster House? The one that's on Sansom St?

Speaking of Oyster House, I hear they are getting a new chef next week. Hopefully he won't go heavy-handed on the butter like the old one. I had soft shells last week that were served with some other good tasting things but were marred by a oily pool of butter. Yuk!
