WHOLE fried clams, not just strips

Does anyone know who would have them in the Delaware area? I remember how good they were from several years ago, but no one seems to carry them anymore, just the fried strips. I was sure Medding and Sons would, was also disappointed that Sambos don't, but they also only have the strips.

Thanks for any and all suggestions, Nan

Nope..your closest place is Legal Seafood in KoP PA..but i just saw a write-up that they may be screwing around with the batter. I had them at LF in the Philly Airport in Apr and they were perfect

Thanks Fanatic. We're going to Boston in Oct, so I asked about places there on the Boston board and got several good, I hope, suggestions. Will keep KofP in mind, but what is LF in Philly airport? We will be going and coming back from Aruba next Feb, pretty sure I wouldn't want them for breakfast or that 'LF' would even be open then, but maybe on the homebound end.

Thanks so much. Is the reason no one is using whole clams about them being too perishable?

Legal Seafood opened up a branch in the Philly Arpt.between B&C. And my wife who grew up summers in Maine swears by their lobster rolls!

I think it's more a cultural thing than perishabliity. Because of red tides in NE, much of the clam "crop" comes from Maryland and areas around here
