Kenkoy's -- Filipino food in Hayward

Saw the sign as we were driving to school, and I got curious. Is this a chain?

Anyhow, we stopped in for a meal. $6 for a plate of chicken adobo, rice, salad. Pretty good deal, really. The adobo was good, I guess, I'm not really an adobo expert, but I the portions were hearty and the chicken didn't taste like z-grade. It was certainly worth my six dollars. My friend, who ordered the pork adobo plate, thought the food was tasty, but that the portions were too skimpy (it should be noted that she doesn't eat rice). Also $6. The menu offered things like adobo burgers, adobo burritos, and so on. Looked interesting, so perhaps next time.

Anyhoo, it's a good cheap option, and if you live in Hayward, it is worth a shot. It's in that giant strip mall that also has the Ohana Hawaiian.
