Who is responsible for those "really yummy taqueria" banners?

Saw another of these banners at the site of the old Namu. Who's making these? They seem too well-executed not to be from some Mexican commerce board or something.

There seems to be a small chain called Yummy Taco in Brooklyn. Connection?

Highly unlikely, given that "Yummy Taco" doesn't appear on the signs, and if they were interested in the space, they'd call the number on the "Available" sign.

Seems like it's probably someone with access to a large-format printer who's not happy with the Richmond's current selection of taquerias.

Haven't seen the banner but wanted to mention that beer companies crank out all kind of banners and materials for retailers and restaurants. Usually the logo will appear somewhere, often quite discretely and not visible from a distance, depending on the message.

If this is guerrilla marketing, it's too discreet to be successful, because I can't see any logo or branding. Here's the Clement poster (I think it's identical to the others): http://richmondsfblog.com/wp-content/...

            Thanks for the example.

The ones I'm thinking of are banners on convenience stores with "EBT and WIC" in big enough letters to read from two blocks away. Then when you get right up to it, the Bud logo is a couple inches high.

Maybe the leasing agent is behind the campaign.

SF has plenty of pro and amateur designers who are capable of making something like this in their free time. I imagine the hardest part is spending the money to have it professionally printed.

What do you mean when you say "these," plural? I'd only heard of the one in the Namu window, and assumed it was just a gag played by some neighborhood resident.

I've also seen one on Clement. Eater.com also pointed it out in a piece once.

I'd be okay if the Namu space were not a taqueria; there's a decent one on Geary and Parker-ish. That's close enough for me.
