Brats Brothers in the old Max's location in Sherman Oaks?

Was this not the old Max's restaurant site? In any case anyone tried the new location? How are they holding up for brats?

Went there last night with my wife for dinner. One waitress who appeared harried for the crowd she had and yet the service was excellent. Had the sausage sampler of 4 sausages which comes with a side of grandma's sauerkraut. Wonderful! Also comes with a pretzel which not exactly Oktoberfest was nonetheless very good. That along with a German Beer made for almost an Oktoberfest experience as helped along by the music. I recommend this place.

Thanks, Hugh. I have to get here and contrast it with Wurstküche at some point. I love a good brat and it's not like we are exactly flooded with them here in the L.A. area.

isn't "word on the street" that brats bros makes sausages for wurstkuche? flavors looked the same last time I was in BB.

I've read that, but I don't recall a rattlesnake flavor at the BB (for instance).

Agree, yet Wurstkuche might have an exclusive with the Brats Bros that they would not serve it in Sherman Oaks, and similarly with other flavors not being duplicated.

Yes that is the old Max's site. Brat Bros is doing very well since they moved from their old location, which made the place look like a dive, to this site. They have an expanded menu and changed their business model to include Saturday and Sunday brunch, and have many different kinds of premium beer on tap. In addition to a large bar, they have a central community table as well as tables for 2 and 4 lining the sides. Click their URL for the entire menu.

But the food is really nothing special, unless of course you need your brat fix, and the decor is dreadful.

Judging by the picture on the web site, they ought to rename the joint "Brat Sisters".
