Mother's Day at Huntington Library and Gardens
I'm interested in surprising my mom to a wonderful Mother's Day brunch or tea this year at the Huntington Gardens but they have 3 different choices to choose from. The first is a buffet in the Rose Garden, the second is a Jazz brunch on the lawn, and the third is a High Tea in the Rose Garden cafe. Has anyone been to any of these? If so, which one is the best pick overall? I was also looking into the High Tea at the Huntington Langham but couldn't find that much information on it. Any other/better suggestions??

Despite the fact that the term "high tea" makes me want to stab myself in the eye, I'd choose the option they do most often which the buffet. The others are merely add on money makers for Mother's Day. You have to factor in the lovely grounds when assessing the afternoon tea however.

I haven't been to a tea at the Huntington for years, but did have high tea at the Langham and thought it was terrific. I'm sure you can call or e-mail them. I can't imagine they wouldn't be doing it on Mother's Day. I've heard others say the Huntington no longer does a real "high tea".
That it's a bit more casual, buffet type thing. The setting is certainly lovely. But the Langham does a true, traditional high tea and it's very nice.›1 Reply-
re: perk
The Langham usually only offers tea Thursday through Sunday but they're offering it every day next week for Mother's day. The Huntington is lovely, but does require quite a bit of walking to get to the tea room, and the tea room itself is nothing special. (The scones and sandwiches are good, and it is all you can eat)
