Looking for good Mex or Tex-Mex breakfast in Dallas

Have friend from DC (who went to UT in the early 70s) who will be staying at downtown hotel. Would like to find a good, authentic Mexican-type breakfast (huevos rancheros, Midas, good tacos). Have reviewed posts for breakfasts and others for tacos, but haven't seen much on this particular type of breakfast. Thanks in advance, mi amigos!

Newer place called Taco Stop on Riverfront south of downtown sells great breakfast tacos. I recommed asking for some of the Chichauhaun cheese on them. Just a few picnic tables to eat on off the road. She's got good coffee, too.

Down in Oak Cliff on Hamption Rd is Virginia's - best chilequiles I've ever had.

Solid huevos rancheros and huevos mexicanos, also. Coffee not very good.

For Austin style breakfast tacos check out Taco Joint in East Dallas.

I just tried Taco Joint -- it was definitely above average and a good value. Thx for the suggestion. Also tried Tipico's on NW Hwy, decent authentic Tex Mex brkfst

I'm having trouble pasting url's on my computer but, go to YELP (Dallas).
In the search windows put in, Mexican breakfast - Dallas
          Under "Neighborhoods, check 'downtown'.

There's a huge list to choose from. Find reviews for the ones that sound appealing to you.

Oops, make that migas, not Midas. Or, better yet, how 'bout migas with a Midas touch?
