Need suggestions for venue near convention center

A friend is looking for a bar venue near convention center that can hold 300-600 people for a launch party. Nothing immediately came to mind, so thought fellow hounders might be able to help.

Underground Arts might work with you. Located in the Wolf Building at 12th and Callowhill, it's a couple of blocks north of the Convention Center. It's a rough space, but interesting and artsy, and they do have a bar. They are having a food event this weekend, so I'm assuming they have a kitchen, too.

Im guessing your friend already thought of this, but the new ballroom at the convention center expansion is designed precisely for this kind of event.

We did an event at Yards, they can't do 300.
I like the suggestion of the Reading Terminal Market.
You might be able to use that Field House place that is across Filbert from the RTM.

That's a lot of people, though, I think barryg is right, your friend may have to stick with the convention center.

Field House can accommodate those numbers, but unless they let you bring in your own food...I would avoid it.

Reading Terminal Market could accomodate that group if you had it at night.
