Mother's Day Brunch in the Santa Clarita Valley

I know, I know, a terrible day to eat out but I'll be spending the weekend with my son and it is actually the first time in quite a few years that I'll actually see him on M day. So, I'd like to have a nice meal, preferably somewhere I can make a reservation and not have to wait 2 hours.

We've been to Thelma's Cafe and Egg Plantation but both (while really good) are always busy anyway, and I'm sure the wait will be very long on M day. Someone recommended Le Chene but looking at the website, it's pretty far and very traditional French food. I'd rather not drive very far since I'll hit the road to go back home after brunch. A traditional buffet would be OK if I can make a res.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Holy cow, this is perfect! Literally down the street from his apt, we could almost walk there.

      THANK YOU!!!

Thanks again for this rec. As it turned out, my son knew of this place and was going to suggest it himself. But when he called for a res, he was told they don't take res for small parties. Long story short, he knows the owner so we got a res for 11 am. We arrived on time, were seated right away and after giving our drink orders we hit the buffet. Very nice selection with the usual omelets cooked to order and a pasta station. The omelet chef did something I never see done--after he cooked the optional ingredients, he incorporated the egg batter into it--much tastier than the usual ingredients in the middle of the cooked omelet. The hot dishes I ate were very good (ribs were tasty and falling off the bone) and salads were nice, tho 1 green salad had too much dressing. Desserts were very good and oh boy! There was a chocolate mousse thing that had me at the first bite. I ate just enough to feel full, not stuffed. Greg, the owner, stopped by our table and he was very nice and gracious. The restaurant was packed, as I expected.

I'm looking forward to going back, but for dinner...gotta try those ribs again! Thanks again.
