Dunkin Artisan Bagels

I saw a sign for these and was a bit intrigued, despite my usual dislike of DD's bagels. They have 2 new "artisan" flavors of pumpernickel and sun-dried tomato. I decided to try the pumpernickel out this morning and was pleasantly surprised. It was quite tasty! Mild pumpernickel flavor, chewy crust and a soft center. Way better texture than their usual bagels. I'll definitely try it again. Figured I'd share!

Artisan = Nice marketing for the term pricey.

Not to mention that putting the words "Dunkin" and "artisan" together is an oxymoron.

Shows just how much advertising works on me. I've seen/heard those commercials many times and I just assumed they were talking about their everyday bagels they've had for a few years now. And I go to DD! And I work in advertising as well! lol

Personally, I find the regular bagels at DD to be more like bread or a roll than like a bagel. I like a tougher, chewier crust and a thick, but soft center. More like a pretzel. The artisan bagel that I tried was more in this range.

I agree 100%. And that can be said about any place that is not a traditional bagel shop/bakery.

I read where a NYC baker has filed a complaint with the FTC over Dunkin's use of the word "Artisan" to describe their new bagels. Nice try, but probably too late. The term is meaningless anymore (we now return you to the original thread).

They used to have a decent sourdough bagel, I may have to try the pumpernickel

Thanks for sharing...I saw a commercial for these the other day and was wondering if they lived up to the hype.
