Seattle Eats with Kids

I'll be in Seattle for business by myself in May for 4 days. At the end of the week my wife and children (2 and 5) are taking the train up from Portland so we can spend the weekend together in Seattle. Can anyone recommend some places to eat that are good with kids? My kids are pretty well behaved and we do eat out with them fairly often. However, we try to find restaurants that allow them to make some noise without disturbing others, so a casual lively environment is preferred. We also try to avoid places with long waits or if there is a wait we go early to avoid it. I figure one night we'll do pizza and I'm considering Delancy or Via Tribunaldi (sp?). Any other recommendations are welcome. Also, we're staying downtown and would like something within walking distance but we're ok with driving somewhere as well if its reasonably close. Thanks!

On a nice day we gather food at the Pike Place Market and eat it at the little park at the north end. Via Tribunali is silghtly more kid-friendly, mainly because we never have to wait, but Delancey is better pizza. It's not in a convenient location, though. Anything in the International District is great with kids—Green Leaf, Pho Bac, Ambrosia for bubble tea. Blue C Sushi is fun for the conveyor belt, but the food quality is better in the ID.

How about eats in or near the Seattle Center? The kids might enjoy the monorail, and the Pacific Science Center. Or the Center for Wooden Boats at the south end of Lake Union?

We've done Delancey with our 4 and 7-year olds. It's great as long as you go at off-peak times as the waits can be brutal. I still say it's the best pizza in Seattle but nothing in this city is as good as Apizza Scholls down there, IMO.

Apizza is definitely our favorite! I miss the days when we lived a mile away and went almost weekly!

Take a bus or light rail down to the International District and try Green Leaf (Vietnamese). Kids might like the fresh spring rolls to be dipped in peanut sauce. Or the grilled pork skewers. Or one of the numerous Chinese restaurants (Sea Garden or Shanghai Garden). Sea Garden has good seafood and very good Chinese fried chicken or roast duck. Shanghai Garden has great mu shu pork (or you can substitute chicken, prawns, or have vegetarian) and the waitresses will roll up the filling in the pancakes for you. Also the hand shaved noodles are good. If the weather is good, good fish & chips at Anthony's fish & chips bar on the waterfront. Elliott's on the waterfront would be good with kids. Not the greatest seafood you could get by any stretch of the imagination (although their oysters on the half shell are excellent), but fresh and acceptable.

When we come down to SEA we always stay in or around the UW district so I can't comment on downtown restos. For us, we often go over to University Village Mall east of UW campus:

It's a very nice outdoor mall, located just over the bridge from downtown, only a 12-min drive or so:

There, Delfino's, Johnny Rocket's, Pallino, Boom Noodle are our favorites. Our son is 6 now, but we've been eating at these places since he was an infant. Pallino is especially popular with families & kids. There's a kids' play jungle in one of the corridors, right in front of Kids Club store IIRC. There are many kids toys and clothing stores in the mall too.

Restos in the Fremont & Wallingford districts are good too. Dad Watsons (now closed) and The Red Door are two places that we've frequented, as well as Costas Opa (Greek).
