Any good espresso cafes near John Hancock building?

Will be in Chicago for five days staying a block from the John Hancock building. Are there any espresso cafes of note nearby to start the day? Note: we lived in Seattle for a number of years and loathe Starbucks, so that is not an option. Thanks in advance.

L'Appetito, on the ground level of the Hancock building, serves Illy coffee.

Bar Toma, on Pearson, across Michigan Ave from the Hancock, has an espresso bar. Also small plates, gelato, and a mozzarella bar.

Bar Toma is an excellent suggestion; it slipped my mind because it's relatively new.
It opens at 8 a.m. on weekdays.

Just north of the Hancock is Lavazza Espression, but it's very hit or miss.
More reliable is Intelligentsia, a mile south. A long walk, but a nice walk if the weather is pleasant.
