expired water chestnuts

I have a can of water chestnuts with an exp. date of 4/26/2011. A year past exp. Are they safe to eat? Thanks.

Unless the can looks suspect in some way (rusty, bulging, etc.), they'll be fine.

I would discard, unless you've already consumed. These are so affordable in my area, I wouldn't take the chance. Just my two cents.

They should be fine.

Unless the can is bulging or squirts water when you open it. In that case, discard.
