ISO The Keg's Chili Garlic Sauce recipe used for deep fried Calamari

KraTToR Apr 22, 2012 10:26 AM

About a year ago, the Keg changed up thier dipping sauce they served with the deep fried calamari. It was an extremely garlicy sweet chili sauce that my wife and I just love. I was wondering if anyone here has a similar recipe?

Might be helpful if you tell us what The Keg is, or where it's located. Did you try doing a Google search?

The Keg is a chain of Steakhouses, mainly located in Canada, but with some outlets in the US as well(CO, AZ, TX and WA)

A Google search turns up this recipe for Fried Calamari, but doesn't mention The Keg:

        Thai Roasted Chili Garlic Sauce

2 Tbsp "Hokan" garlic chili sauce
2 Tbsp "Wild Thymes" Thai Chili Roasted Garlic
        2 tsp balsamic vinegar
        2 1/2 tsp honey
        1/2 tsp Rice Wine vinegar

Mix all ingredients for Thai sauce, and let stand covered at room temp until calamari are fried.

Looks tempting, thank you. The Keg's recipe has a ton of raw garlic in it. Enough that it seems spicy... I've searched high and low online and so far nothing........:(
