Chicago Butcher - Need large amount of chicken thighs
I'm making my own cat food, and I need to buy 50 or 60lbs of chicken thighs (preferably thighs, not leg quarters) at a time. Checking prices at the local stores (mainly dominick's) I can get thighs for around $1.50/lb, which isn't terrible, but I'd probably have to go to several different stores or make some arrangement with a single store since they generally don't put out that many packages at a time.
What I'd like to find, though, is a butcher that can fill this order (would be a monthly order) since 1) it'd be more convenient and 2) I'm hoping to find a price cheaper than I can get at the local grocery store (since everything there is pre-packaged, etc.)
Anyone have any suggestions about where in Chicago I might be able to find a butcher that would be able to fill this?
thanks

Domininck's and Jewel would probably also charge you 2 to 3 times as much as most other grocers. If you need 50 lbs, you're more than likely going to have to pre-arrange this anyway, no matter where you choose. Peoria Packing is a great suggestion. If I needed 50 lbs of thighs, I'd be looking to my nearest Certified grocer, Mexican market, or fruit market with a meat counter depending where you are. I'd expect to pay no more than 99c /lb, and that's the absolute MOST. Normal sale prices for bone in thighs are generally 79c /lb, but I am not surprised to see them as low as 69c once in a while.

re: gordeaux
Peoria only does quarters and drumsticks, which have too much bone in them for my needs. I'm going to call around to the other meat packing places in that area (they're closed today), but it seems like most of them do primarily beef and pork.
Any suggestions about where I could find any of the places gordeaux suggested (i.e. neighborhoods). I'm in Rogers Park, but I can travel is necessary.
