rijsttafel at Nonya?

Anyone try the rijsttafel at Nonya? I want to go - with a Dutch friend. Is anyone here able to compare with a Dutch Indonesian place?

I haven't had the rijstafel but order à la carte and find it delicious. It's upscale Indonesian food, so slightly different than Dutch Indonesian. The portions might be smaller than you'd get in a Dutch place, and there is more emphasis on presentation. The food is authentic. I recommend the rendang and bebek bengil, the pandan creme brulee. I like the Tuesday and Wednesday table d'hote for $20, good deal.

I have had rijsittafel in Holland and was not my favourite but this place looks interesting from reviews posted, all seem so postive . There is a terrace on side to enjoy once the warm weather comes. The specials on Tuesday and Wednesday are very reasonable for 3 courses. The soups and desserts look delicious as well. I am sold on giving it a try and surprised how I never noticed this resto before when on bernard as not far from parc.

I could have sworn I saw on their site a few weeks ago what the table d"hote consisted of but I can't seem to find it now. Plateaumaman,do you remember what the table d'hote consists of?

The table d'hote is an entrée, a main and a dessert. The choices might vary but they will likely be from the menu, which is on the website. My favourites are the duck (bebek bengil) or the beef rendang. The appetizer soups are very good, as is the pandan creme brule.

Thanks. I guess it varies weekly.

I'd say not comparable to a rijstaffel in Holland - but as close as you can get in Montreal. It's really more of a tasting menu. Still good though.
