Had a great meal there last month. I really enjoyed the giant scallops. The service was awesome too. We sat on the terrasse, with furry blankets and heat lamps to keep us toasty, and it was really cozy.

    2. I went once about a year ago, and while it wasn't bad, there was nothing compelling enough to make me want to return. In that neighborhood I much prefer Au Petit Extra and Le Valois.

      1. We went as a group this summer. Great service and you can't help to support morally their endeavors but the execution is average IMO. We weren't transported by the food. It wasn't bad but it didn't "sing". Great "concept" but the execution is not unique enough to support it.

Of the big pig platter the favorite was the ribs (but there weren't enough of them apparently).

I went a few months ago, maybe April? I was with around 10 people, it's a nice place for it, they have a lot of room, take reservations and are very accommodating to groups. Plus they are not super packed, so you can probably get reservations the week before, which is usually hard for a group.

As far as I know, all of us enjoyed our food, it was good. It is very meat centric, obviously, and most (but not all) of the menu is fairly heavy. Some of us found it a little expensive however, for what you get, but not outrageously so, considering the portions are fairly large. (That always bugs me a little with these places that have huge portions. Give me a little less, charge me a little less, I'll be able to get dessert after my app and main, instead of being way too full. And I'll come out with a better impression. And this is coming from someone with a good appetite. End rant.)

I would not mind going again and would enjoy it, but I probably wouldn't select it myself, considering all the other options out there.

Thank you very much for the comprehensive reply sweettoothMTL! It is appreciated! I am looking for a restaurant for a group and whilst I would like to visit the restaurant, I was thinking that it was perhaps a bit too meat centric and your report has confirmed that.

I completely agree about the huge portions/high prices at some restaurants!
