Please help -- Location for Sunday afternoon family party, 30 -40 people, Brooklyn Heights & vicinity

We're looking for a location to host a small family gathering, 30-40 people, somewhere in Brooklyn on a Sunday afternoon in June. We're in Brooklyn Heights but would be fine with a place anywhere in Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill or even Park Slope if the location is good.

Also OK with recommendations for places where we can rent a room and bring in food though would prefer a place that comes with tables & chairs so we don't have to rent.

target price/budget? for food and room separately or total budget if someone were to suggest a venue with both.

preference for type of food? no-gos?

Target price is around $30 per person if that sounds reasonable, including food and room together. Alcohol is probably not a factor since it's an afternoon and not a drinking group.

In terms food preference -- there will be kids so needs to be kid-friendly. No specific types of food desired/ruled out, though I think for this kind of an event we'd prefer more standard fare (probably not a dim sum hall or anything as an example.)

I just went through this myself. We ended up at a home, but I did a lot of research. Jakewalk was very accommodating and I think within your budget. It might work better if it is more"mingly" and not a sit down affair, but they could probably do either. good food and really nice and responsive staff.
