Birthday dinner in Oak Cliff

I want to celebrate my birthday in Oak Cliff with a nice dinner. I am thinking about Jonathan's or Hatties. Any thoughts from Dallas Chowhounds?

Zen underrated sushi in Bishop Arts.

I'd also consider CampO - fun placed loosely based on the cuisine of Mendoza, Argentina. Haven't been to Driftwood yet (near Bolsa), but if you love seafood that might be worth trying.

Tillman's is awesome too, if you want something nicer. Our favorite causal place has to be Eno's.

Hattie's, Bolsa, or Smoke are among the very best!

+1 for Bolsa, Smoke is good too, and no one's mentioned Mesa--top of my list right now of places I want to go back to in Oak Cliff.

I can't believe I forgot to include Mesa. Arguably, the best of the bunch.

Skip Hattie's. Bolsa is turning out great food these days due to the new lineup. Smoke is always great. Haven't tried Driftwood or Mesa, but both look promising. If your crowd is small and the weather is nice, might be able to snag an outdoor table at Lucia. If your crowd is larger, might consider Nova.

Mesa is the best restaurant in Oak Cliff, although I haven't been to Lucia yet, but it got great reviews as well.

I've never had a bad meal at Mesa, and Bolsa is so-so. CampO is overpriced and subpar. It's a cool idea, but not worth it imho.
