Recommendations for Restaurants and Bakeries

I am coming to Montreal this weekend for my birthday. Never been to the city before. I need recommendations for bakeries, i was told to try the macaroons. And also for a restaurant to go out to eat at for my birthday that has great food. Thanks!

there are so many resto options, what kind of food and ambiance do you want. Any preference to location, do you have car?

For Parisian macaroons you can try La Maison du Macaron, Le Point G, Espace Boutique Europea. One I haven't tried is Esprithé, but it has a good rep.

For bakeries there's Fous Dessert, Mamie Clafoutis, Olive & Gourmando, De Froment et de Sève, Le Kouing Amann. Unless you're looking for bread wich would best be bought at Guillaume, Le Formentier, Les Co'pains...
