Eagle Donuts [San Francisco] - La Lengua Chronicles Part 10

Date Dined 4/14

Stopped by Eagle Donuts on a Saturday around midday. I bought an apple fritter, since that was what a few hounds suggested. The fritter (dough-wise, it was the same as a doughnut) was maybe slightly dry since it was later in the day, but the texture on the inside was fluffy. Flavor was a nice combo of caramel and apple, but it was VERY sweet. I was sharing it, so I only ate about 1/3, and that was enough...afterwards, I felt like I needed some coffee or milk to balance it out. I can tell from this fritter that this is a quality donut shop, but I think I'll aim for a less-sweet variety next time. But for any big sweet-tooths out there, I recommend it!

I went again today and had a maple frosted doughnut, which was light and fluffy and not overly sweet. Very similar to a Dunkin' Donuts maple frosted, except a bit fluffier (in a good way). $0.95 is the price of a doughnut.
