Mio Posto (Saratoga Springs)
Had dinner at Mio Posto (in the former Lanci, 8 Tables, Sangwych location) recently.
Warm, fresh bread and a white bean dip arrived after a tasting of risotto and ramps. I had chicken livers with crispy peas and demi, grouper with tomato ? and asparagus risotto. Very good. Coffee and cherry gelato for dessert.
It's BYOW for now.
SO will like it, especially BYOW and French press.

Been back a few more times. Dining companions had the veal chop. The menu is a little challenging for me since I only eat poultry and fish. I've had the scallops a few times. It's better for meat eaters. That said, I just save my calories for dessert and leave happy.

Mio Posto is scheduled to be reviewed in the Albany Times Union tomorrow (July 15). The food reviewer for the TU is Cheryl Clark, who was part of the husband/wife duo who ran the very well rated Chez Sophie in Saratoga. She obviously knows the restaurant business in and out, and is a very knowledgeable critic. Might be worth a look to see what she says. Albany Times Union does have a web site.

Went back recently. SO and his dining companion had the tasting menu. I arrived late and had a taste of his salad. I had the pan seared scallops, lobster risotto with asparagus and blood orange burro as my entree. Delicious.
I don't remember if we had gelato. They get their gelato from Gina (Appian Way in Schenectady - only place I have found fig gelato in the Capital District).
SO said this is one of the best meals he's had in Saratoga (I'm behind in my posts and don't remember the courses they had).
I can't wait to go back. Might have to wait until September. Even with 3 seatings I have a feeling it will be tough to get a reservation here during Track Season.
