Pinalito City, Best Pork Chops in NYC!
Pinalito City is a Dominican Restaurant on the corner of Clinton and East Houston. I discovered this place many years ago by chance, stumbling into it.
This very quaint and neighborly place is frequented by the areas ethnically Dominican as well as hungry patrons with a distinct appetite and taste for quality and authenticity.
One of the owners place of origin is actually a city in The Dominican Republic that is called Pinalito City, thus the name of the restaurant.
The Dominican dishes are not labeled on the menu, but the waitress or waiter or chef can direct you to them, as the menu offers also dishes that are Mexican. The Mexican portion of the menu is labeled and is quite extensive, though since the Dominican dishes keep my attention have not ventured towards dishes of Mexican.
The meat and fish dish all seem to have that special Dominican tough, and are prepared to excellence.
I recommend the Grilled Pork Chops, two to a plate for about 10 dollars, and be sure to get the not too small cup of garlic sauce for dipping. The octopus dishes are good too, though some days they might not have octopus, which gives one just another opportunity to try some other delicious item on the menu. cod stew is not exactly stew the way American's define it, but it is a good for those who like fish minced and prepared in a Dominican or South American fashion.
I share this as a fan of places that do not mess around and give you delicious food in a comfortable and non-pretentious and friendly atmosphere......and someone took it upon themselves to make a nice page on a blog:
