For Cassoulet Fans and Soft Shell Crab Fans
I have seen threads asking for recs on both these dishes and just wanted to mention:
Cassoulet: Rendezvous in Central Sq, Camb, is doing this every Sunday in April. It is a really really terrific version. we had it this past monday as part of their very generous and enticing Tapas Bar Mondays menu.
Soft shells: Strip Ts in Watertown has, on their current menu, the biggest most succulent whales
i have ever seen in a boston restnt. as big as a steak. red curry sauce. a dining highlight for us last week.
I went to Strip-T's website and it says: 'we will be closed for sure on thursday the 19th, but we are optimistic about being open for the weekend.' Call or check website before venturing.
Re: softshell crab. We had one last Friday, and we totally agree with opinionatedchef. Huge and delicious. Perfect frying job and tasty curry to go with. We got it for take-out, and it came out perfect still. :) The chowpups (age 5 and 2) dug into the crab as well. Makes me proud!
