"Open Rice" at old Main Wah on High Ridge in Stamford

Does anyone know what kind of place this will be, food, etc? Just saw a banner/sign driving by it yesterday. Same strip mall as Layla's Falafel.

Well, it's open, claims to be "pan-asian"--anyone try it yet? I find the name annoying, sounds like it was a failed attempt at translating something.

We have eaten there a couple of times and it is VERY good. It is Japanese (the style where they cook infront of you - but they do it in the back kitchen.) The food is very fresh and delicious. You should definitely check it out!

Really nice people. But ho hum on the food. And yes, more Japanese than Aisian.

Agreed, meh on the food. Nothing to really distinguish it from any other takeout in the area. Not bad, but when we go there, it's based on convenience, and, as mentioned elsewhere on this thread, the folks there are really nice.

"Open Rice" is a Hong Kong food/restaurant site; type "Open Rice English" for English language posts. Coincidence? Maybe the owner's from Hong Kong!
