I'll be arriving in Washington late evening and we'll need a bite to eat. Is there any late evening places open after 11pm? We are staying at the Marriott at metro centre, it will be a Monday evening ifthat makes a difference.

Also can anyone recommend anywhere nice for a take away breakfast near our hotel?

thanks in advance!

thanks all, I land at 10pm so as long as they are taking reservations after 11pm it's all good :)

It's definitely not the best restaurant in DC, but it's one of the best in that area for late-night dining, and close to your hotel: http://www.thehamiltondc.com/restaurant

For take-away breakfast, there's Pain Quotidien at F and 10th and Pret a Manger at F and 11th. Teaism and Paul Bakery are on 8th, south of E, and could be food if you're walking down to the Mall.

Thanks for that, sounds just what we are looking fir, as long as it's edible I'm happy. I imagine my taste buds will be asleep by that point anyway ;p

Yes The Hamilton is your best bet. I went there the other night for dinner and had a very good salmon burger. They are no longer open 24/7 but I think they stay open pretty late most nights and are walking distance from your hotel.
