Tight Brits Tucked Near Sutton Place

Any ideas welcome:

"Right, got a friend who is staying in an apartment in Manhattan [1071 1st, b/w 58th & 59th] for a week from Friday. He's with his Mrs (French) and two girls early/mid-teen girls. He's notoriously tight so wants to know where to eat that's OK but cheap."

        If the family likes Asian food, they have quite a few options: Grand Sichuan, Bon Chon, Hide Chan Ramen, a few more options on East 53rd but I can't remember the names of the restaurants.

          Panda at 54th & 1st is the local go-to for Chinese. Taksim (Turkish) on 2nd Ave. between 54th & 55th, and Angelo's Pizza are all local and well-priced.

            Taksim is a great choice. Panda is inexpensive but only a desperate local would go there. And Angelo's pizza is delicious.
