Lobster Pounds open April 27-29th 2012?

We are driving to Maine via Boston Airport and just realized that all of our old favorite lobster pounds are still closed for the season April 27th-29th. We typically go to Shaws (does anyone know if Shaws is open for the season? They do have some indoor seating.), and several other rustic pounds in the Bailey/ Orrs, Pemaquid, and Boothbay areas. We love this area, but don't want to eat in a traditional restaurant setting. We could also go somewhere that does lobster pound takeout and eat back in our hotel room if necessary. If you have lobster pound suggestions for further south in Maine or New Hampshire, we could try there also. We typically like to order the 2 1/2 pound+ hard-shell lobster and maybe some mussels. We don't need anything else. I travel with my own butter warmer. Thank you for any suggestions.

Where is Red's? That is one I have never been to. Thank you.

Reds is probably the most popular, most written about, most featured lobster shack on the planet! Route 1 Wiscasset.

Thank you for the information. I had heard of Red's Eats on Food Network, but just wasn't sure if that was the pound that you were referencing. I know they are known for their lobster rolls, but do they serve whole steamed lobsters? Thanks.

The lobster shack at two lights is open.

I don't know anything for certain but...due to the unseasonably warm weather, it is possible that some of these places may decide to get a jump on things and be open. I'll keep my eyes/ears open for you.

Thank you. Since we have eaten at the pounds in our down coats in October, it didn't even occur to us that they wouldn't be open in late April. Our mistake. Any information you can pass along is appreciated.
