Highly rated Ethnic Asian dining establishments in SF

Thank you in advance for your suggestions. I'm looking for the best Asian food restaurants, hole in the walls, etc. in SF. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

What is the criteria for "highly rated", other web site ratings, personal experience or tourist feedback?

"Highly rated" on Chowhound is whatever whoever's writing a particular post rates highly.

maybe not the highest rated, whatever that is, but these places have very good food and service -- for Shanghai food, Shanghai Bund in Chinatown. Burmese, Mandalay in the Richmond. Northern Chinese, Beijing Restaurant, two locations (in the Sunset or Excelsior).

There are way too many to start listing them all. SF does a great job with Burmese, Peruvian, Vietnamese, and Cantonese among many others. I would recommend picking a few, doing a search, and then coming back with some specific questions on what you found. As it is you could get literally hundreds of suggestions, and who is to say which ones would be better than the others?
