If you have to use a recipe to cook, then think of recipes as a road map, or if you were born post-2000, a Garmin navigation system.
Many times a road map, or your Garmin, will give you the most direct route from A to B.
Same with recipes. They often give you directions on how to make a dish in the most efficient and intuitive way.
But cooking is just like life. There are many ways from getting from point A to point B. Sometimes you don't want to take the shortest, most direct route.
Sometimes you want to take a slight detour to take in a scenic drive, or maybe loop around to eat at a joint recommended by 'Hounds, etc.
So long explanation short, as long as you get from A to B, then why worry if you are not following each and every direction as instructed by your Garmin?
