casual carlsbad

Will be there in about 4 weeks with my kiddos. Most posts on here seem to go more on the upscale side for the area. I'm looking for good food that I can grab to go or not worry about cranky kids who have been at Legoland all day.

Here are my thoughts, please let me know if I'm off on any them:

Yoshino Japanese Deli - is it open for dinner? can't find much on hours

Campus Cafe - breakfast and/or lunch

Lola's 7 Up Market and Deli

Paradise Pizza - I don't need arcades like Pizza Port as my kids are 2 and 3. I like that you can get mozz only instead of a cheese blend.

Spiritos - another mozz only cheese pizza joint

Tip Top Meats

Don's Country Kitchen for breakfast.

Any I should avoid or definitely try?

I was there in June and went to Patadise pizza and was Wausau underwhelmed. It could ave been any old pizza. It was a hole in the wall, amped though I'll eat good food anywhere, but this wasnt worth hanging out for. By the time we got it back to our hotel it was this soggy mess; dominos delivery would be about the same. The next night we had pizza at the hotel pool and it was awesome.

I'm headed back to Carlsbad and think I'll starve if I don't eat at the hotel.

Best food I had was at legoland and at the four seasons, and park aviara.

Karl Strauss is next door to Legoland..
Across the freeway you have Kings Fish House, Sammy's Pizza and In and Out.
      Pelly's Seafood for fish sandwiches
