Mavi Meze Grill in Edgewater

i spotted the signage yesterday over the space where Muscle Maker Grill used to be (in the Trader Joe's shopping center on River Road). anyone have the scoop on this place? i came up empty with a Google search - not sure if it's any relation to Cafe Mavi Kebab & Meze in Summit...

Have eaten there twice now in the last two weeks. Very pleasant and so far very well cooked food. Friends more knowledgeable about area Turkish food say there are in fact slightly better up "the hill" on Palisades Ave. in Cliffside park but I love this as it is with in walking distance, on the water, and had a very nice vibe. The chicken kabob in a word, excellent. The Adanan kabob my husband thought was great and the Shephards salad, enough for three was very fresh and perfectly dressed to my taste. I have also had the small meze platter with eggplant and spinach and Lebni; it was fresh and tasty, and I have found a new love in Lebni. This is
very thick yogurt made with some cucumber, and with walnuts folded in, some dill, not as much garlic as the Tzatsiki that I make, but some how better for the walnuts. Could not manage dessert. I will save that review for another time; meanwhile, a very welcome addition to the
neighborhood. I like the BYOB part; they also offer fruit drinks and sodas. Go!

I've been there yesterday with my wife, not a perfect timing thanks to the weather. They've just opened a week ago as far as i was told and we wanted to try since we are Turkish..There are plenty Turkish restaurants upon the cliffs but not a single one by the water as far as i know. Hot bread and some olives was served first. We had Shephard salad and it was very fresh and the dressing was used in an appropriate amount. Eggplant salad is one of my favourite appetizers and it was very tasty too. Not bitter. And we shared a branzini, it was also very well cooked; not dry but cooked enough that the backbone came off easily. it was served with some arugula salad and two thick slice of onions. we had a apple desert but it was not my type. Our server was very attentive and he was kind. i couldnt find any information on the net either, yet. The owner said they are open for 7 days, for now. And it is BYOB. Well, it is a new place and everything looks great. i like to eat there in a summer night. lets wait and see 6 months. Hopefuly, they do well.
