New Pho Downtown Hollywood

Just wondering if anyone else has eaten there and gotten the same feeling. Very overpriced for the small portions and very low quality ingredients. This is 4 blocks from my house and i was extremely excited when i saw it but I am now resigned to the fact that i will have to drive to NMB or Davie to get my pho and vermicelli.

The pho was somewhat bland I thought. Service average. However, when I was there for lunch there were at least 6 uncleared tables which makes me wonder about cleanliness.

I went a few weeks ago. The service was unfriendly. They plopped menus on the table and were more interested in joking with each other than taking an order or bringing out food. The pho was bland. They didn't have fish sauce or sesame oil nor did they have homemade chili sauce. I ordered the all cuts pho and there wasn't much but flank and meatballs, and the meat was already welldone before it was plopped in front of me. The banh mi was on CUBAN BREAD and lacked any decent quantity of pickled veggies. I was really happy to have an alternative to schlepping all the way out to the burbs for good pho (saigon city, pho 78) but I was so disappointed with the entire experience and will not be back. And yes, it's over priced and the portions are small.

Hmm. Everyone was very friendly to me when I was there, and that includes two waiters and the cook who popped out of the kitchen occasionally to check on things.

I agree that the pho was a little light on some cuts--maybe one piece of tendon and tripe each--but I got the small one. Still, I thought it was decent. Maybe I have low pho standards. Or maybe I'm just glad to have a Vietnamese restaurant I can walk to.

I've been there a couple of time and had no issues with the service although the place was almost empty on both occasions. I went with the Banh Mi both times and thought it was decent at best. Fresh but light on meats and bread was not authentic. Heard the Pho was good from a reliable chef in town.

I had dinner there tonight and thought the pho was decent. I probably paid for small bowl of pho what I would normally expect to pay for a large bowl in other restaurants, but aside from that, I was happy with my meal. They've only been open for a month or so, so maybe you caught them when they were just getting their act together. I plan on trying it again because I really, really want some decent restaurants in downtown Hollywood.

It's called Pho Vi and is located at 1933 Hollywood Blvd.
