Best fried chicken near Howard County

I have had a craving for fried chicken for a long while, time to indulge. But it is absolutely not something I should be eating while trying to lose weight. So -- if I'm going to indulge in this craving I want it to be really excellent fried chicken. Crispy skin, moist meat, not greasy.

Does anyone have a recommendation in or near Howard County?

    Good - Red Rooster, Damascus
Better - Henny Penny Fried Chicken at the Forest Diner, Ellicott City (While/if you can still get it)
Best - Harvest Fried Chicken, Woodbine (Great sides, as well).

I used to love Red Rooster. The past two times I went I was let down. However, they were sort of off hours (3 pm-ish), and both were a few years ago.

I agree that Red Rooster is not the chicken joint it once was. Years ago I would've put it at the top without question. Still a "good" selection. Plus you have Jimmie Cone just up the road for dessert.

Actually, I've always been a big fan of the FC at Royal Farms stores. There is one in Glenelg on Ten Oaks Road. Fresh out of the pressure fryer it ain't too shabby, either.

Make sure you call ahead as there is always a wait, but definitely worth it since they try to get it for you right after its done cooking.
