re: Full tummy
I have visited little India twice-once alone and once with my parents visiting from Vancouver. I noticed it seemed more Pakistani than Punjabi as far as restaurants or sweet shops go. Is this just my take or has anyone noticed different? It certainly wasn't like Little India (Main St) in Vancouver or what I was expecting/hoping for. I guess all the main Indian shopping is in Brampton or Mississauga?

re: Splendid Wine Snob
I think you misunderstand me. When I heard it was called "Little India", I was hoping for more of a real Indian shopping and dining experience and for it to be a bit larger. However, since it seems that most of the Indian population lives out in Brampton or Mississauga, my understanding is that I will find more stores and restaurants there. It is like how Scarborough has more Chinese dining and shopping as opposed to Chinatown here in Toronto.

Definitely look out for any stations in front of shops/restaurants where corn is being grilled. They season it with spices and lime juice, and it is delicious!

re: prima
Didn't end up ordering the corn this visit, but ordered a $6 plate of pani puri at one of the places on the north side of Gerrard that was selling grilled corn.
Also was very happy with the masala dosa from Moti Mahal.
Stopped in at Kohinoor as well as Cash & Carry. Seems Cash & Carry charges 2 bucks less for a case of Alphonso mangoes, and a dollar less for 100 grams of black cardamom pods.
Looking forward to trying out some other shops and restaurants on my next visit to Little India.
