Visiting Chicago and need a foodie related gift!!

I'm from Philadelphia and visiting Chicago for a couple of days. I am here for a 30th birthday and want to put together a basket of foodie related items. I was wondering if there were any local "must have" treats or tastes or great gourmet grocery stores that could provide those unique and special pantry items. I'm staying at the Courtyard Marriott downtown and am willing to adventure around the city.

Thanks!

Garret's popcorn (although not up my alley) seems to be a local tradition/favorite.

Maybe a gift card to Giordannos?

A jar of gardiniera peppers is probably as Chi-town as it gets in terms of something for the pantry.

The Spice House, in Old Town (Wells & North). Amazing selection of goods that will delight any foodie.

Fox & Obel is a little over 1/2 mile from your hotel.
