Sushi - Danforth & Logan area

I need to find a sushi joint in the Danforth & Logan area (or further west). By googling I found Sushi Friends and Casa Sushi, are either of these places decent?

Everything tastes fresh, and it is easy on the wallet. Definately not high-end, but it will do in a pinch if you don't want to travel far.

I mostly just want something cheap and hearty for pre-race food this Friday before the Harry's Spring Run Off 8k.

Depends on what you think is decent. They aren't like the high end places a all, but if you want to get a lunch or dinner for $10 or so, they work.

Aji Sai probably serves the best sushi to be found on the Danforth, but it's located at 783 Danforth, which is east of Pape, and east of Logan. http://www.ajisai.ca/

I haven't tried any of the cheap sushi places that have sprung up between Chester and Pape. They look like they'd be in the same league as New Gen/Sushi on Bloor and all the clones on College Street and Queen West.

But it's only about a 5 - 8 minute walk from Logan.

And did you know you can actually find decent Indian food in Greektown? Aravind is finally pretty good, and I recently ate at Sher-e-Punjab after many years. It was quite good and I'd return again.

Has Aravind improved their portion sizes? Two of my Indian friends went there a couple months ago after I recommended it, and were underwhelmed by the food. I'll give it a try one of these days, but I haven't been yet.

Which dishes did you like at Sher-e-Punjab?

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit this but I ate at Casa Sushi the other day. A friend needed a tempura fix and I went along for some Dynamite Rolls. Her fry was greasy and disgusting. My rolls were just 'ok'. Not too much rice a la New Gen, but there was nothing special about them... You definitely get what you pay for.

Aji Sai is where we go for sushi, but on my last visit about 3 weeks ago, I felt the overall quality was not the same as it used to be, Has anyone else noticed that?
